Purest Form

Purest Form were a New Zealand vocal harmony group. They are best known for their television commercial for the Rainbow's End amusement park and for their 1994 cover of Split Enz's song "Message to My Girl".
Purest Form were the first all-Polynesian pop group to achieve chart success in New Zealand and were considered positive role models for a generation of young Polynesian New Zealanders.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.niufm.com/on-air-1/get-to-know-your-hosts-4/2013/08/niu-daze-niko )
== History ==

Purest Form originally formed as a vocal quartet at Onehunga High School.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll?AC=SEE_ALSO&QF0=Descriptors&QI0==%22Purest+Form+(Musical+group)%22&XC=/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll&BU=&TN=LocHAM&SN=AUTO5224&SE=1511&RN=3&MR=0&TR=0&TX=1000&ES=0&CS=1&XP=&RF=Displayweb&EF=&DF=&RL=0&EL=0&DL=0&NP=2&ID=&MF=WPEngMsg.ini&MQ=&TI=0&DT=&ST=0&IR=19159&NR=0&NB=0&SV=0&SS=0&BG=&FG=&QS=&OEX=ISO-8859-1&OEH=ISO-8859-1 )〕 The group were discovered busking in downtown Auckland by a manager of the Rainbow's End amusement park. Purest Form then recorded an a capella doo-wop version of the Rainbow's End ad jingle and filmed a television commercial.
The group were managed by Ondrej Havas and Steven Mountjoy and were signed to their label Madame X. Ondrej later went on to manage boy band Spacifix.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.nzmusician.co.nz/index.php/ps_pagename/article/pi_articleid/957 )
Purest Form released five singles, with the first four charting in the New Zealand top 40. Purest Form's debut single was a cover of Split Enz's song "Message to My Girl", which peaked at number two. Split Enz band member Eddie Rayner co-produced the song. The "Message to My Girl" single included mixes of the Rainbow's End song.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instruments/cd/singles/auction-109385720.htm )〕 Purest Form also covered the Beatles' song "If I Fell" and released three original songs, including the Christmas ballad "You Don't Have To Cry".〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://charts.org.nz/showinterpret.asp?interpret=Purest+Form )
At the 1995 New Zealand Music Awards, "Message to My Girl" won Single of the Year, with Purest Form also nominated for Most Promising Group.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.nzmusicawards.co.nz/2009/10/29/1995-winners/ )
The group eventually split up in 1997, with Mark Tautai joining the Polynesian vocal quartet Jamoa Jam.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.amplifier.co.nz/artist/8369/ )
In October 2013, the group reunited on the TV3 comedy panel show ''7 Days'', where they performed the Rainbow's End song.
